National Account Director – Immunology, Gene Therapy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Responsible for executing a strategic engagement strategy at designated accounts within the territory to ensure product availability and access for a leading gene therapy aimed at treating recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP).

• Identify opportunities and emerging trends that foster mutually beneficial partnerships, enhancing patient access to care and ultimately elevating the quality of care provided.

• Meet or exceed all established objectives and budget goals by devising and implementing strategies tailored to the assigned account(s).

• Co-leads the formulation and implementation of the Strategic Account Plans in collaboration with Commercial Leadership.

• Responsible for executing the payer account plan alongside Commercial Leadership through regular calls and meetings.

• Accountable for deploying value-based healthcare commercial resources that challenge account perspectives, elevate care standards, and enhance the utilization of comprehensive care measures in clinical practice, leading to improved patient outcomes in recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP).

• Participate/Co-lead routine cross-functional market meetings focusing on account/customer profiling, performance engagement, and accountability.

• Customer targets include, but are not limited to, PBMs, National Health Plans, Medicare MACs, Regional Health Plans, IDNs, as well as Key Customer C-Suite, Directors, Department Heads, Administrations, Finance, Pharmacy, Billing, etc.

• Understand the role of cross-functional partners and collaborate effectively with each function to achieve optimal results.

• Demonstrates leadership among local field teams, cross-functional partners, and internal leadership.

• Accountable for developing strategic engagement opportunities with KOLs within assigned customers.

• Provides proactive communication to stakeholders (both internal and external) involved with customers.

• Gathers insights from aligned Centers and acts as a rapid conduit of information back to Commercial Leadership and the broader organization.

• Aligns disease state/therapeutic activities with the latest sales and marketing direction.

• Conducts Quarterly Business Reviews.

• Proficient with sales support technology, such as Salesforce/Veeva.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrates high emotional intelligence, strategic focus, abilities to build and leverage networks, healthcare business insight, maintain relationships, and possess thorough knowledge of healthcare and managed care policies, reimbursement processes, and a solid understanding of both the Client’s products and competitive landscape, with a strategic customer focus and planning execution capabilities, effectively leveraging data and information to prioritize business opportunities, balancing stakeholder needs, business development, impact & influence, decision-making, problem identification and resolution.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required.

• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

• At least 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical payer account management and hospital sales.

• Experience navigating complex accounts is essential for success.

• Technical knowledge of healthcare reimbursement from both patient and provider perspectives.

• Experience in Rare Disease, oncology (and/or immunology) with familiarity in Gene Therapy.

• Cell and Gene Therapy experience is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Buy and Bill drug reimbursement dynamics with payers and Medicare MACs.

• Product launch experience, ideally with small to mid-sized companies.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to establish strong, trusting partnerships that drive performance.

• Highly skilled in both verbal and written communication; possesses advanced presentation capabilities for delivering corporate approved materials.

• Advanced business analytical skills to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.

• Ability to quickly identify issues and develop timely, compliant recommendations for resolution.

• Knowledgeable about current and potential future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information impacting his/her business and organization.

• Ability to clearly articulate scientific and clinical aspects of disease education & management, mechanism of action (MOA), treatment prescribing information, etc.

• Expert collaboration with cross-functional partners, including marketing, training, operations, and medical teams.

• Familiarity with the legal and regulatory environment; capable of managing compliance in others.

• Comfortable with spending approximately 30%-60% of time traveling; overnight travel is required.

• Possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
