📋 Description

• Supervise the late news cycle on the London Free Press website, lfpress.com

• Maintain the website with edited content to engage and attract readers while reaching new audiences

• Refine digital strategies for SEO, social media, breaking news alerts, and user-generated content

• Ensure assignments align with breaking content needs in collaboration with late-day multimedia journalists

• Discover opportunities for innovative explainers and live coverage

• Assist in developing ambitious journalism concepts and achieving or surpassing website performance targets

• Participate in editorial meetings to strategize and implement content

• Contribute to producing the newsroom’s regular reader newsletters

• Collaborate closely with the digital team, field reporters, assistant news editor, city desk, and deputy editor

• Experience in daily digital journalism and editing, or a proven ability to learn quickly

• Proficient in digital and social media platforms

• Willingness to work under the fast-paced deadlines of a newsroom

• Competent journalist and effective communicator

• Capable of swiftly adapting to shifting news requirements and dynamic situations that demand speed and flexibility

• Knowledgeable about industry content, style, and legal standards, including libel and defamation laws
