Multi-State Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Manage cases independently from intake to resolution

• Formulate and implement legal strategies grounded in factual investigation and legal analysis

• Maintain thorough communications with courts, administrative agencies, clients, financial institutions, and opposing counsel

• Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments

• Attend hearings and trials as required

• Navigate Medicaid eligibility and reimbursement, administrative appeals, civil litigation, probate and estate claims, and guardianships

• Collaborate with paralegals and centralized operations staff

• Operate remotely with limited travel for hearings, proceedings, and firm events

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school

• At least 3 years of relevant legal experience

• Active licensure in two or more of NC, SC, and VA; other active licenses will also be taken into account

• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

• Capacity to work independently while effectively collaborating with a remote team

• Strong organizational skills, time management, and personal accountability

• Persistent, resourceful, and proactive in problem-solving

• Confidence to take ownership of outcomes from beginning to end

• Willingness to travel for in-person hearings, firm trainings, meetings, and other firm-sponsored events

• Proficiency in Mac/Apple operating systems

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365

• Experience with Adobe Acrobat

• Knowledge of timekeeping and case management software

• Familiar with legal research applications

• A minimum of three professional references required for application
