This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Operate excavators and various heavy machinery to accomplish tasks such as digging near utilities and live lines, grading, trenching, and backfilling.
• Collaborate effectively with site supervisors, laborers, and fellow operators to ensure that work aligns with project specifications and timelines.
• Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to guarantee safe and efficient operation.
• Adhere to all site-specific and company-wide safety protocols and procedures.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of materials as required.
• Maintain precise documentation of work completed and report any issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Adjust to varying site conditions, including weather and terrain, while sustaining productivity.
• Demonstrated experience in operating heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of construction site operations.
• Proficient in the operation of heavy machinery, including excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, and bulldozers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor equipment issues.
• Ability to read construction drawings, blueprints, and interpret project plans effectively.
• Skilled in utilizing GPS technology and machine control systems for precise grading and layout.
• A valid operator’s license or equipment certification may be necessary based on local regulations.
• Previous experience in civil or heavy construction is preferred.
• Flights provided from Thunder Bay.
