Mortgage Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess mortgage loan applications in line with industry norms, investor specifications, and Heritage Bank's lending policies.

• Oversee a loan pipeline and ensure all documentation complies with company standards.

• Deliver exceptional client service through effective and professional communication.

• Evaluate and analyze loan applications along with their supporting documents.

• Relay underwriting results and provide assistance in resolving issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required; a BA or BS degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mortgage underwriting is essential, with at least 2 years focused on FHA/VA loans.

• FHA Direct Endorsement, VA-SAR, and LAPP certifications are preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with automated underwriting systems is necessary.

• A self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and professionalism.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.

• Proficient computer skills are essential.

• Attention to detail with outstanding decision-making and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
