This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee and improve the Mortgage Servicing Compliance Management System (CMS)
• Assist in the creation and execution of policies, procedures, and various compliance program components for Cornerstone Capital Bank, SSB, along with its operating divisions and Affiliates
• Aid in monitoring changes and updates to laws, regulations, and rules (“LRRs”), as well as regulatory agency policy statements and guidance to determine when new or revised disclosures, policies, or procedures are necessary
• Regularly evaluate existing disclosures, policies, and procedures to verify their accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with ERM partners and the business line to ensure timely implementation of compliance changes
• Ensure the completion of risk governance and compliance program tasks, as assigned, which include remediation and advancement through the issue management lifecycle
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments across mortgage servicing operations to identify, evaluate, and monitor regulatory compliance risks; assess the effectiveness of current controls; recommend risk mitigation strategies; and work with business stakeholders to address control gaps and emerging risks
• Assist with regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance reviews
• Keep track of emerging regulatory requirements and industry trends
• Examine consumer complaints and servicing issues to identify trends and potential compliance risks
• Engage in other compliance-related projects as assigned
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws related to mortgage
• Capability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Understanding of the regulatory environment, including trends in enforcement actions and remediating regulatory findings
• Exceptional communication (both verbal and written) and organizational abilities; experience working directly with regulators and senior management
• Strong research and computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage compliance
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred
