This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Develop and sustain data ingestion, processing, and integration pipelines from various sources, including educational assessments, school management systems, and public databases such as the School Census and INEP.
• Design relational databases and analytical structures that facilitate efficient and scalable query performance.
• Automate processes for data updates, validation, and quality assurance.
• Create and maintain dashboards, panels, and data visualization interfaces for use by education secretariat managers and internal teams.
• Convert the analytical requirements of non-technical users into clear and user-friendly visualization solutions.
• Refine data access and navigation features based on user feedback.
• Collaborate closely with the technology team to establish data architecture and system integrations.
• Document technical workflows, database schemas, and indicator logic to ensure sustainability and continuity.
• Assist in defining technical specifications for new analytical features in collaboration with vendors or the development team.
• Conduct exploratory analyses and generate indicators to support studies and reports for the monitoring, evaluation, and research (MER) area.
• Aid in the methodological validation of predictive models and learning indicators.
• Offer technical assistance to users of data tools, including training and troubleshooting.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience in data engineering or data analysis, with proficiency in SQL and relational database modeling.
• Proficient in at least one programming language for data processing (Python or R).
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, or visualization libraries in Python/R).
• Knowledge of best practices for organizing and documenting data pipelines.
• Capacity to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
• Experience with API integration and the automation of data flows (ETL/ELT) is advantageous.
• Experience in developing dashboards or simple web applications (e.g., Streamlit, Shiny, or lightweight front-end frameworks) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Brazilian educational data (School Census, SAEB, state assessments) is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and version control systems (Git) is a plus.
• Interest in or previous experience in the education sector or social impact is a plus.
