Mobile Software Engineer – Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Lead impactful outcomes by designing robust and secure payment flows that form the foundation of Booksy’s financial ecosystem.

• Integrate and enhance various payment methods, such as BLIK, Tap to Pay, and physical Booksy card readers, to ensure a smooth checkout experience.

• Utilize proven design patterns to modernize legacy payment systems into contemporary, greenfield-style production code that emphasizes data integrity and security.

• Oversee complete money flows, guaranteeing high availability and reliability for service provider payouts and financial reconciliation.

• Influence the engineering culture by establishing high standards for code quality and collaborative development practices within the financial infrastructure stack.

• Innovate with AI tools to create automations that enhance the development lifecycle and boost the reliability of payment processing.

• Refine the code review process by using AI to identify edge cases in transaction logic and uphold stringent security standards.

• Engage in strategic discussions with a seat at the table to shape the future of Booksy’s payment rails and financial technology.

• Balance practical execution with high-level leadership to ensure both technical excellence and the stability of our core money-handling systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• To excel in this role, you will need:

• - Strong knowledge of Java, Kotlin, and the Android framework.

• - A comprehensive understanding of the entire Feature Flag process.

• - Ability to write Unit tests (JUnit) and automation tests (Espresso) independently.

• - Familiarity with the CI/CD process, including knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, Bitrise, or Firebase Test Lab.

• - Capability to create more complex generic UI components using Jetpack Compose.

• - A solid understanding of MVVM and app architecture.

• - At a minimum, **conversational proficiency in English.** This is essential as English is our company language used for all business communications, enabling you to feel integrated as part of Booksy.
