Mobile Crane Operator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Travel to project locations, set up the crane and truck by pinning the boom and pendant cables, and pulling the hoist cable in preparation for operation; configure the machine for lifts using blocking and leveling materials to ensure stability.

• Operate hoist and swing equipment to safely transport machinery, materials, and large objects while adhering to weight certifications and applicable regulations.

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of equipment to ensure the safe operation of the crane and truck; complete all necessary daily documentation, including logs for the truck and crane.

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on the crane and truck as per manufacturer recommendations.

• Ensure all equipment is loaded, rigged, hoisted, and secured correctly; properly secure all equipment and attachments during transport or when left unattended.

• Operate all equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with relevant federal, provincial, and municipal regulations.

• Stay informed of and comply with all site safety policies and Valard's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Journeyman Mobile Crane Operator certification or equivalent qualification.

• Valid Class 1 driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Experience operating mobile cranes and heavy machinery in construction or industrial settings.

• Background in transmission line or utility construction projects.

• Familiarity with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations related to crane and heavy equipment operations.

• Capacity to live and work in remote locations within a camp environment.

• Willingness to travel throughout Western Canada, with flexibility to work in Eastern Canada as necessary.

• **Preferred Skills / Qualifications**

• Experience operating semi-trucks and other heavy machinery.

• Previous experience in pile driving.

• This position offers a unionized base hourly rate of $49.12/hr with total compensation of $62.53/hr.
