MLOps Engineer, Data & AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance ML workflows utilizing Google Cloud Platform, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery ML.

• Incorporate CI/CD pipelines for the training and deployment of models.

• Supervise and automate model performance and retraining processes in Kubernetes environments.

• Establish and regulate cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.

• Adjust and optimize services to boost system stability, performance, and security.

• Conduct capacity planning and performance optimization for high-traffic events, including Black Friday.

• Implement observability and alerting within data pipelines and services.

• Explore and evaluate new technologies and industry trends for their applicability.

• Share technical knowledge and assist data engineers and data scientists in applying performance and security best practices.

• Recognize repetitive issues or tasks and develop automated, long-term solutions.

• Construct a state-of-the-art ML Platform on Google Cloud from scratch.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, Linux environments, containers, and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, Ruby, or PHP.

• Experience with Shell scripting and regular expressions.

• Comprehensive understanding of software development, release engineering, and CI/CD best practices.

• Solid knowledge of networking, operating systems, automation, distributed computing, high availability, and load balancing principles.

• Previous experience managing modern ML Platforms and highly available Big Data systems (standout).

• Familiarity with HashiCorp tools including Vault, Consul, and Terraform (standout).

• Experience with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP, and Azure (standout).

• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, StatsD, ELK stack, and LGTM stack (standout).

• Development experience in SQL and proficiency with relational databases and SQL queries (standout).

• Active participation in community initiatives (standout).
