Migration & Modernization Engineer – Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive infrastructure and application migration initiatives to AWS, including lift-and-shift, replatforming, and re-architecture.

• Execute technical evaluations and assessments of existing legacy systems, pinpointing risks, dependencies, and areas for optimization.

• Craft cloud-native architectures utilizing microservices, containers (EKS), serverless functions (Lambda), and managed databases.

• Establish infrastructure as code (IaC) through Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

• Conduct AWS Well-Architected Reviews and apply recommendations for security, performance, and cost efficiency.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, data, and business teams to ensure project deliverables are in line with the client's strategic roadmap.

• Create documentation for architectures, technical decisions, runbooks, and rollback strategies.

• Act as a technical resource and mentor for junior and mid-level team members throughout the project lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience with a focus on cloud environments and migration projects.

• Practical experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, Migration Hub, DMS, and MGN.

• Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in Python and/or Java for development and automation tasks related to migration projects.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools.

• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and business stakeholders.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification is advantageous.

• Familiarity with the AWS MAP (Migration Acceleration Program) is a plus.
