Middleware Developer, Shopify

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Create and develop scalable middleware solutions that integrate Shopify with external enterprise systems, such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and Salesforce.

• Develop robust code to receive data from multiple sources, implement complex business logic for data format transformation (e.g., converting Shopify JSON payloads to SOAP/XML for legacy ERPs), and transmit it to the target system.

• Leverage the Shopify Admin API (both REST and GraphQL) and Storefront API to programmatically manage products, orders, customers, and inventory.

• Automate data flows for essential business processes such as Order-to-Cash, Inventory Synchronization, and Shipment Updates.

• Establish logging, alerting, and retry mechanisms to manage API rate limits, connection timeouts, and data validation errors without interrupting business operations.

• Ensure that all data in transit is encrypted and processed in compliance with PII and PCI standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of backend development experience with an emphasis on middleware, iPaaS (e.g., Celigo, Mulesoft, Workato), or custom integration microservices.

• Comprehensive understanding of the Shopify API ecosystem.

• Experience with Celigo is mandatory.

• Demonstrated ability to read, parse, and transform data structures.

• Expertise in JSON, XML, CSV, and SQL is crucial.

• Strong experience with server-side languages such as Node.js or Laravel/PHP.

• Familiarity with enterprise data exchange protocols, including REST, SOAP, FTP/SFTP, and EDI.

• Proficient in Git and CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
