This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
β’ Delivers engaging and dynamic synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
β’ Dedicated to customizing learning for every student.
β’ Holds a firm belief in the potential of all students to achieve success and meet high standards.
β’ Adjusts instruction based on each student's level of understanding.
β’ Enhances course material in accordance with established policies and procedures, utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools with guidance from the principal and coach.
β’ Manages the grade book to uphold academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and informs administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress.
β’ Prepares students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
β’ Recognizes the importance of building and sustaining positive relationships with families, regularly communicating with and responding to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.
β’ Assists learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional matters, along with basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting, ensuring alignment with academy policies and procedures.
β’ Travels as needed (approximately once a month and/or around 20% of the time) for in-person professional development, student testing, and as required by the school.
β’ Bachelor's degree.
β’ Valid state teaching license.
β’ Capability to pass the necessary background check.
β’ Experience working with the specified age group.
β’ Background in supporting both adults and children in utilizing technology.
β’ Experience in teaching within an online (virtual) environment and/or in a traditional brick-and-mortar setting.
β’ Familiarity with online learning platforms.
β’ Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
β’ Opportunity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
β’ Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours, typically from 9-5 (or 8-4) as determined by the school.
