Middle School Math Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Delivers engaging and dynamic synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.

• Dedicated to customizing learning for every student.

• Holds a firm belief in the potential of all students to achieve success and meet high standards.

• Adjusts instruction based on each student's level of understanding.

• Enhances course material in accordance with established policies and procedures, utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools with guidance from the principal and coach.

• Manages the grade book to uphold academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and informs administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress.

• Prepares students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Recognizes the importance of building and sustaining positive relationships with families, regularly communicating with and responding to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.

• Assists learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional matters, along with basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting, ensuring alignment with academy policies and procedures.

• Travels as needed (approximately once a month and/or around 20% of the time) for in-person professional development, student testing, and as required by the school.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Valid state teaching license.

• Capability to pass the necessary background check.

• Experience working with the specified age group.

• Background in supporting both adults and children in utilizing technology.

• Experience in teaching within an online (virtual) environment and/or in a traditional brick-and-mortar setting.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms.

• Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
