This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
β’ Oversee instructional programs for Middle School Language Arts.
β’ Serve as a homeroom teacher, acting as a mentor and role model for students throughout the academic year.
β’ Assist students and families with essential tasks throughout the school year, including Welcome Calls, Intent to Return, and monthly WSLP Progress Checks.
β’ Motivate students to actively participate in their lessons and LiveLessons.
β’ Conduct at least one synchronous LiveLesson per course each week, or a combination of synchronous LiveLessons and office hours as appropriate, in addition to providing asynchronous support videos to students as necessary.
β’ Valid Washington teacher certification in Middle School Language Arts.
β’ Proficient in technology, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, synchronous classroom platforms like Zoom, third-party educational software such as Nearpod, and data collection tools including spreadsheets and databases.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail, with demonstrated time management and organizational skills, especially when working independently.
β’ Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues to create and maintain an inclusive work and educational environment that supports diverse groups, including individuals of various races, ethnicities, religions, abilities, genders, and sexual orientations.
β’ Effective communication skills, both listening and speaking, with staff, students, and families from diverse cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.
β’ Willingness to travel for one or possibly two weeks at a time for significant school events, including overnight travel (such as back-to-school training, state testing, graduation ceremonies, marketing events, and field trips).
β’ Strong communication skills.
β’ Flexibility to travel for one or possibly two weeks at a time for key school events.
β’ Proven ability to work collaboratively as a team player in a dynamic environment.
β’ Focused on students and families, with a demonstrated capability to foster an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom that acknowledges and supports students from diverse backgrounds and identities.
