Middle School English Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee instructional programs from a remote location

• Engage regularly with learning coaches and students

• Enhance the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing and synchronous teaching

• Ensure timely completion of grading, progress reports, and parent conferences

• Maintain regular communication with parents, students, and fellow teachers to create and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules

• Provide constructive feedback on student work and recommend instructional strategies

• Monitor assignment completion and guide special projects

• Keep student records and data current, including online student and family information, attendance tracking, and logging all contacts with students and parents

• Collaborate with team members and staff learning specialists to design alternative enrichment activities and adapt students' programs

• Create and sustain a “school community” through virtual methods

• Assist in the organization and administration of State Testing as directed

• Participate in student recruitment sessions and marketing initiatives that require teacher involvement

• Attend field trips and community activities organized for families

• Perform additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be certified to teach Middle School ELA/English in South Carolina (appropriate to grade level responsibilities)

• Residency in South Carolina is required

• Gifted and Talented Endorsement is strongly recommended

• Proficient in technology, particularly with MS Office and Google Suite

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

• Highly organized and punctual

• Customer-focused mindset

• High degree of adaptability

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Track record of being a team player

• Willingness to travel occasionally for school and state testing events (may involve occasional overnight stays)

• Ability to work remotely when needed

• Availability to work some evening hours occasionally to support families

• Must be able to utilize a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication
