This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Delivers dynamic and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
• Dedicated to personalizing education for each student.

• Adapts instruction according to individual levels of mastery.
• Enhances course materials in accordance with established policies and procedures, utilizing appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under the direction of the principal and coach.
• Maintains an accurate grade book to uphold student academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notifies administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress.
• Prepares students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Recognizes the importance of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with families, and regularly communicates with and responds to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.
• Assists learning coaches/parents with student curriculum and instructional matters, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting, in accordance with academy policies and procedures.
• Travels as necessary (on average once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time) for in-person professional development, student assessments, and as required by the school.
• Bachelor’s degree AND
• Active state teaching license AND
• Capability to pass the necessary background check.
• Experience working with the specified age group.
• Experience assisting adults and children in utilizing technology.
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) setting and/or in a traditional classroom environment.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data, using it to inform instructional decisions.
• Open to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Adaptable to change to ensure optimal student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capable of quickly learning and adapting to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Committed to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and staying fluent in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
