Middle School ELA Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Manage instructional programs virtually

• Enhance the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous teaching

• Timely completion of grading, progress report creation, and conducting parent conferences

• Regularly communicate with parents, students, and fellow educators to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, assess student performance, provide feedback on assignments, suggest instructional strategies, monitor assignment completion, and guide special projects

• Acquire a general understanding of the entire program’s curriculum while having an in-depth knowledge of the specific courses for which you are responsible

• Evaluate curriculum and formulate alternative methods for lesson presentation to boost student comprehension

• Assist students and parents with alternative strategies and offer additional support with daily assignments and projects

• Maintain consistent communication with parents, students, and school staff via computer and telephone

• Ensure student records and data are kept current

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be qualified and certified to teach English Language Arts in Michigan

• Preference for Michigan residency

• Proficient technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

• Highly organized and punctual

• Focused approach on students and families

• High level of flexibility

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Team player with a successful track record

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the capability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds

• Required travel to and attendance at in-person events, including State Testing throughout the school year, as determined by the school, which may involve overnight travel

• Willingness to work occasional evening hours as needed to support families
