This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
• Foster student achievement through a robust school counseling program.
• Assist students in planning their postsecondary education, military service, employment, college, and career pathways.
• Conduct quarterly meetings with students on your caseload to assess graduation plans and postsecondary options.
• Provide classroom instruction aligned with student success standards.
• Evaluate transcripts and academic records.
• Collaborate with faculty on developing four-year graduation plans and reviewing student schedules.
• Aid in course placements and recommendations for Advanced Placement and enriched educational pathways.
• Analyze student data to create intervention action plans driven by data.
• Offer short-term counseling and referrals for extended support.
• Support teachers, staff, and parents in various capacities.
• Assist with standardized testing, parent education initiatives, and staff training.
• Advocate for students during IEP and other meetings focused on student welfare.
• Enhance equity, access, achievement, and opportunities for all students.
• Travel as necessary for in-person professional development, student assessments, and other school-related needs.
• Required: Idaho Counselor Certification.
• Must be a resident of Idaho.
• Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advising.
• Possession of a School Counselor License.
• Ability to pass necessary background checks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems.
• Flexible working schedule is essential.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Capacity to work independently, typically over 40 hours a week.
• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during working hours.
• Experience in distance learning environments.
• Advanced coursework in counseling and administration is preferred.
• Master's degree in school counseling is advantageous.
• Teaching experience is a plus.
• Experience in a customer service setting is beneficial.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws and mandated reporting is required.
• Preferred experience in a charter school environment.
• Knowledge of state career planning systems, Pathfinder, or other career planning tools/platforms is desirable.
