Middle Multimedia Engineer, GStreamer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain multimedia middleware components.

• Construct, integrate, and enhance GStreamer-based audio/video pipelines.

• Merge media components with user-space applications and system services.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate media issues concerning performance, stability, and synchronization.

• Facilitate technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.

• Collaborate with hardware, platform, and application teams.

• Assist in board bring-up and hardware validation related to audio/video subsystems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of software development experience in multimedia or system-level environments.

• Significant hands-on experience with GStreamer (essential): • constructing and debugging media pipelines • engaging with elements, pads, caps, and plugins • resolving latency, synchronization, and performance challenges.

• Proficient programming skills in C++ OR Java (mandatory) for system-level or multimedia applications.

• Deep understanding of audio & video streaming technologies and protocols (RTP, RTSP) (essential).

• Familiarity with video/audio codecs (H.264, H.265, VP9, AAC, Opus).

• Experience with Video4Linux (V4L2).

• Practical experience with Embedded Linux OR Embedded Android (mandatory).

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP, UDP, HTTP.

• Ability to troubleshoot across software layers (middleware, OS, hardware interaction).

• Experience with Git (version control systems).
