Mid Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Developing new pages and components utilizing Next.js and React, supported by SSR, REST, and GraphQL.

• Contributing to the design and architecture of protobuf contracts to facilitate efficient service development.

• Leading initiatives for quality and performance enhancements, including advocating for observability, load testing, and metrics.

• Effectively maintaining legacy systems while fostering platform evolution.

• Cultivating a positive, productive, and healthy team environment.

• Collaborating closely with Product Managers and Designers to deliver impactful solutions.

• Engaging in pair programming with fellow engineers.

• Taking part in self-directed Relentless Improvement days to emphasize learning, experimentation, or platform upgrades.

• Complying with quality management, safety, and environmental company policies.

• Demonstrated experience working within high-performing software engineering teams and delivering top-quality software.

• Proficiency in full stack development across various languages and contemporary architectures.

• Excellent communication skills, especially for asynchronous collaboration.

• An independent mindset with the capability to work autonomously and tackle problems with practicality and creativity.

• A considerate approach to feedback, pairing, and code reviews while upholding high technical standards.

• Experience in making architectural contributions within distributed systems.

• Comfort in a continuous deployment environment with rapid iterations.

• Familiarity with any of the following is a plus: TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, Go, Rust, Kafka, Grafana, GraphQL, MongoDB, Elixir, Postgres.

• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, or Argo CD.
