This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• USA Firmware is looking for a Mid-Level PCB Designer to become a part of our expanding engineering team. In this position, you will collaborate with electrical, firmware, software, FPGA, and mechanical engineers to create intricate printed circuit boards for pioneering products in industrial automation, medical devices, defense, IoT, robotics, and commercial sectors.
• You will take charge of PCB layout from the initial concept to production, utilizing Altium Designer and Siemens PADS Professional while working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to produce manufacturable, high-quality designs.
• Design PCB layouts using Altium Designer and Siemens PADS Professional.
• Translate electrical schematics into manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Design multilayer PCBs ranging from 2 to 12 layers.
• Create and maintain PCB footprints, symbols, and component libraries.
• Generate documentation for fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing.
• Conduct DRC/ERC verification.
• Implement IPC standards along with DFM/DFA best practices.
• Assist with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Collaborate with PCB fabricators and contract manufacturers.
• Participate in design reviews with engineering teams.
• Required:
• - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• - 3 to 7 years of PCB layout experience.
• - Proficiency in Altium Designer.
• - Experience with Siemens PADS Professional.
• - Experience in designing multilayer PCBs.
• - Ability to create PCB footprints and schematic symbols.
• - Understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
• - Capability to interpret electrical schematics.
• - Familiarity with IPC standards.
• - Strong communication and organizational skills.
