Mid-Level Network Monitoring Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Continuously oversee security logs, events, and alerts to detect unusual behavior and potential threats.

• Manage, configure, and enhance WAF solutions.

• Examine and respond to events related to web application security.

• Develop, refine, and evaluate WAF security rules and policies.

• Investigate and resolve false positives.

• Assist in identifying and mitigating attacks such as SQL injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), bot attacks, and the exploitation of web vulnerabilities.

• Collaborate closely with AppSec, Information Security, Infrastructure, Network, Development, and Cloud teams.

• Aid in vulnerability assessments and security testing.

• Contribute to the implementation and upkeep of security policies and controls.

• Engage in the response to and containment of moderately complex incidents.

• Conduct risk assessments and suggest protective strategies.

• Prepare technical documentation, security metrics, and reports.

• Monitor metrics related to events, incidents, vulnerabilities, and application security.

• Identify areas for enhancement in security processes and controls.

• Assist in the rollout of security updates and patches.

• Attend technical meetings with internal teams and clients as needed.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of security controls and the protective posture of environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with WAF (Web Application Firewall).

• Understanding of Application Security (AppSec).

• Proficiency in analyzing logs and correlating events.

• Familiarity with network protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and VPNs.

• Knowledge in configuring and managing firewalls, IDS/IPS, and proxies.

• Awareness of vulnerability analysis.

• Understanding of threats and attacks aimed at web applications.

• Familiarity with security policies and controls.

• Capability to analyze and interpret security events.

• Hands-on experience in administering and troubleshooting WAFs is advantageous.

• Experience in AppSec is a plus.

• Familiarity with OWASP and key web application vulnerabilities is beneficial.

• Experience in Cloud environments is a plus.

• Incident response experience is advantageous.

• Knowledge of monitoring tools and SIEM is a plus.

• Experience in highly critical enterprise environments is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree.

• CompTIA Security+ certification is a plus.
