Junior Network Automation, NOC Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance global network connectivity spanning data centers, offices, cloud providers, and private network links.

• Diagnose routing, switching, firewall, and connectivity challenges, providing support for both first- and second-line issues.

• Administer firewall ACL modifications, NAT configurations, VPN verification, and fundamental firewall management.

• Set up and manage VLANs and cross-connects on Arista switches.

• Facilitate network activations, relocations, additions, and modifications in collaboration with data center providers and clients.

• Establish monitoring dashboards, alerts, and conduct network health assessments.

• Assist with network upkeep, firmware upgrades, and patch management.

• Ensure the maintenance of precise and comprehensive network and firewall documentation.

• Aid in developing CI/CD methodologies for network configuration with Git and related tools.

• Contribute to network automation and scripting initiatives utilizing Python, Ansible, Terraform, and other instruments.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to automate repetitive network tasks and gradually assume more advanced engineering responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in network engineering, network operations, or Network Operations Center (NOC) support.

• Strong grasp of routing and switching principles.

• Practical experience with at least one leading networking vendor such as Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, or comparable.

• Background in supporting or managing firewalls.

• Knowledge of ACLs and experience adhering to structured change-control frameworks.

• Familiarity with VLANs, interfaces, trunks, and data center switching environments.

• Experience with scripting or automation utilizing Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities coupled with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure setting where network uptime is critical for clients.

• Strong communication skills and the capability to work collaboratively with technical teams and external stakeholders.
