This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide systems engineering assistance for both in-service and new vessel designs, focusing primarily on the T-AO 187 Class.

• Offer support for shipboard engineering systems.

• Collaborate with stakeholders.

• Utilize, maintain, and enhance document authoring and drafting practices as well as tools to create reports, manuals, and drawings with high efficiency and precision.

• Aid the team in executing Outyear Engineering Requirements for various classes of ships, including the T-AO 187 Class-Double Hull.

• Design and develop fluid systems using design software such as PipeFLO and perform spreadsheet calculations.

• Create and develop interfaces between ship systems and new equipment.

• Author and generate design reports to accompany in-service modifications to ship systems.

• Achieve advanced proficiency in 2D drafting practices to enhance in-service modifications.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSME).

• At least 4 years of practical experience with ship machinery and systems, ideally on the T-AO 187 Class vessels.

• Capability to write clear reports and specifications in English with minimal oversight in MS Word, utilizing features such as styles, fields, and references.

• Demonstrated experience in ship design, modification, or maintenance projects.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

• Ability to work independently on individual projects with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively with other engineering disciplines in a team setting.

• Competence in interfacing with team members, technical leads, and project managers.

• Ability to review and apply US Navy and/or US commercial ship design requirements, including DOD acquisition, system safety, and testing processes.

• Strong verbal communication skills in English.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

• Must be a US citizen.
