This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Take ownership of the design for designated fragrance collections and brand systems across various SKUs, sizes, and substrates, while receiving guidance from Sr/AD as necessary.
• Develop unique visual territories, including color palettes, typography, finishes, patterns/illustrations, iconography, and layout guidelines.
• Demonstrate a diverse stylistic range—luxury, masstige, mass, clean/clinical, vintage apothecary, Y2K/Gen Z, gender-neutral, holiday/gifting, and collaborations with celebrities.
• Transform trends and cultural signals into commercially viable, retailer-ready designs that possess clear hierarchy and shopability.
• Create on-pack architecture (brand, line, variant, claims, regulatory) that harmonizes beauty with clarity.
• Design comps and mockups that effectively convey the story: on-pack, secondary, merchandising, e-commerce thumbnails/PDP, and simple POS materials.
• Develop concise style guides/toolkits that are scalable—covering logo usage, type systems, color logic, finishes, and layout patterns.
• Incorporate finishes and materials as part of the design language (foil, emboss/deboss, soft-touch, textures) while considering cost tiers.
• Conduct rapid explorations: mood boards, type studies, palette/finish options, and quick A/B shelf and thumbnail tests.
• Present clear rationale linked to consumer insights, retailer needs, and price tiers; iterate swiftly based on feedback while maintaining craftsmanship.
• Carry out competitive analyses and trend mapping to position collections in a distinctive manner.
• Design in-store merchandising displays according to retailer and brand specifications.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Compliance, Packaging Engineering, and Creative to ensure manufacturability; annotate design intent and provide build notes (not primarily responsible for mechanicals).
• Prepare organized handoffs: tidy files, naming conventions, links, and specification notes to facilitate swift production/prepress processes.
• Quality assurance of your work: hierarchy, legibility, color accuracy, dieline fit; support key proof reviews to ensure creative intent.
• Share best practices with peers and juniors; contribute to libraries, templates, and checklists.
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in packaging and brand design (CPG/beauty/fragrance or related fields), preferably with mass/private label experience.
• Strong visual craft skills: typography, composition, hierarchy, and color systems; portfolio should demonstrate a range of aesthetics and depth of refinement.
• Proven capability to translate direction into distinctive, scalable on-pack systems.
• Effective presenter and storyteller; able to justify choices with consumer and commercial rationale.
• Collaborative, organized, and dependable under tight deadlines.
• Working knowledge of print production processes as they relate to design.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign (expert level).
• Strong familiarity with Figma or Keynote/PowerPoint for guidelines and presentations.
• Familiarity with 3D tools (KeyShot, Blender, Cinema 4D, or Adobe Substance/Dimension) for creating realistic mockups is a plus.
• This role is offered as an independent contractor position through a payroll platform.
