Microsoft 365 Migration Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Strategic Advisory — Offer expert guidance on the proposed single-tenant, multi-Geo consolidation strategy, which includes identifying constraints, risks, dependencies, and suggesting an optimal sequence for implementation.

• Multi-Geo Architecture & Data Residency — Design and execute the Microsoft 365 Multi-Geo configuration to ensure compliance with regional data residency requirements for users/workloads in the UK and ANZ.

• Tenant Migration — UK — Strategize and carry out the migration of the legacy (~10-year-old) UK .co.uk tenant into the unified .com tenant, focusing on the complexities and historical configurations developed over the past decade.

• Tenant Migration — ANZ — Plan and implement the migration of Australia/New Zealand workloads from Google Workspace to the unified Microsoft 365 .com tenant, which encompasses mail, identity, and collaboration tools.

• Identity & Access Management — Ensure that Entra ID remains integral to the consolidated environment, maintaining and/or enhancing automated joiner/mover/leaver (JML) processes across all regions.

• Risk & Change Management — Identify potential migration risks (such as data loss, downtime, compliance issues, and user disruption) and formulate strategies for mitigation and rollback.

• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer — Create implementation documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks to support internal IT teams after migration.

• Stakeholder Coordination — Collaborate with Manuka Global's internal IT and regional business stakeholders across the UK, US, Australia, and New Zealand to synchronize timelines and minimize business impact.

• (Potential, longer-term) IT Operations Partnership — Following successful project delivery, there may be opportunities for an ongoing partnership in IT Ops support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in implementing Microsoft 365 Multi-Geo deployments (not solely limited to single-tenant M365 migrations).

• Demonstrated experience with tenant-to-tenant migrations (M365-to-M365) and Google Workspace-to-M365 migrations.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, particularly in automated joiner/leaver provisioning workflows.

• Experience in advising on data residency considerations within Microsoft's compliance and architecture frameworks.

• Ability to manage stakeholders across multiple regions, including the UK, US, and ANZ time zones.

• Exceptional consulting/advisory communication skills — capable of clearly articulating technical trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Prior experience with consolidating legacy tenants (e.g., decade-old tenants with accumulated technical debt) is highly desirable.

• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-100/101, Identity and Access Administrator) are advantageous.
