MEP Site Manager – Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee field operations for the installation, coordination, and execution of essential MEP systems in mission-critical settings.

• Support the MEP Project Manager in evaluating and selecting subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.

• Create scopes of work for the MEP Project Manager's review and endorsement.

• Develop MEP project timelines that align with the overall construction schedule.

• Prepare estimates for MEP self-performed tasks and assist in comprehensive project estimates.

• Coordinate and supervise all trades throughout the construction phase.

• Negotiate final pricing with qualified bidders.

• Generate cost-to-complete reports, monthly billing, status updates, progress reports, materials reports, and cost analyses.

• Review and maintain up-to-date architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, shop, and P&ID drawings.

• Assist with pricing work, drafting modifications, and managing change orders.

• Oversee and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to project completion.

• Schedule subcontractor tasks and monitor productivity and installed quantities.

• Identify and procure necessary materials, equipment, tools, and supply sources.

• Set up and finalize construction sites.

• Act as the on-site Safety Officer in the absence of an assigned individual and engage in the QMS safety program.

• Direct supervisory staff and subcontractors to synchronize construction phases and avert delays.

• Address workforce complaints and grievances in collaboration with supervisory personnel.

• Establish and uphold safety and quality standards while enforcing Gray’s safety program.

• Utilize and maintain the company QMS program and produce continuous-improvement traceability reports.

• Ensure client satisfaction.

• Lead subordinate supervisors and support staff as required, including responsibilities for interviewing, hiring, training, work assignments, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and problem resolution.

• Mentor new team members.


⛳️ Requirements

• An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution, along with a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience; OR at least 15 years of related construction experience with increased responsibilities in lieu of a degree.

• More than 5 years of industrial construction experience; experience in data center or mission-critical projects is strongly preferred.

• Capability to manage responsibilities for multiple, complex data center projects.

• In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including power distribution, critical cooling infrastructure, commissioning processes, and equipment installation.

• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost management.

• Proven ability to effectively lead large field teams.

• Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, financial statements, and legal/contract documents.

• Strong people management capabilities.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones.

• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar construction technologies is advantageous.

• Strong work ethic; energetic, self-driven, collaborative, and dedicated to professional growth.

• Ability to work independently and manage tasks without detailed supervision.

• Ineligible for visa sponsorship.

• Must be willing to travel to project sites across the United States and occasionally outside the U.S.

• Must meet physical requirements, including frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.

• Overtime may be necessary.
