Mental Health Physician Assistant, NP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Conduct telehealth follow-up consultations for the management of psychiatric medications in elderly patients.

• Monitor treatment outcomes and modify medications while considering age-related risks, polypharmacy, and accompanying medical conditions.

• Execute cognitive evaluations and screenings (e.g., MoCA, MMSE, or comparable instruments).

• Create initial care coordination and behavioral support strategies.

• Collaborate closely with nursing personnel who will offer ongoing monitoring and patient assistance.

• Communicate with the supervising psychiatrist as required.

• Ensure timely and precise documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be licensed and certified as a Physician Assistant or PMHNP in Texas (mandatory).

• Experience in geriatric psychiatry, long-term care, or dementia care is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with cognitive assessment tools and behavioral management techniques.

• Comfortable providing care through telehealth platforms.

• Strong clinical judgment regarding polypharmacy, fall risk, and medication safety in older adults.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based care environment.
