Mental Health Physician Assistant, NP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Conduct virtual follow-up appointments for psychiatric medication management among elderly patients.

• Monitor treatment efficacy and modify medications while considering age-specific risks, polypharmacy, and existing medical conditions.

• Carry out cognitive evaluations and assessments (e.g., MoCA, MMSE, or similar instruments).

• Create initial care coordination and behavioral support strategies.

• Collaborate closely with nursing staff who will provide continuous monitoring and patient assistance.

• Communicate with the supervising psychiatrist as necessary.

• Ensure timely and precise documentation in the EMR system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be licensed and certified as a Physician Assistant or PMHNP in Illinois (required).

• Experience in geriatric psychiatry, long-term care, or dementia care is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with cognitive assessment instruments and behavioral management techniques.

• Comfortable providing care through telehealth platforms.

• Strong clinical decision-making skills related to polypharmacy, fall risk, and medication safety in older adults.

• Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented care model.
