This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +5 more states.
• Act as a field-based Medical Science Liaison within the Medical Affairs department.
• Represent and support PTC and its products with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and professional organizations.
• Address unsolicited inquiries regarding PTC's marketed and developing products.
• Cultivate lasting relationships and establish rapport with healthcare professionals through discussions on scientific products and disease states.
• Offer medical and clinical expertise on company products, ensuring safe and effective utilization.
• Participate in national and regional medical meetings and symposia; engage with attendees, attend scientific sessions, gather insights, and summarize findings.
• Present balanced, objective clinical and scientific information to healthcare professionals, payors, and patient organizations.
• Identify and recruit speakers for advisory boards, symposia, and educational initiatives.
• Assist with regional medical initiatives such as advisory boards.
• Provide management with insights on competitive therapies, business development opportunities and risks, along with market intelligence.
• Build and maintain relationships with health authorities, KOLs, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, payors, and patient organizations.
• Facilitate submissions for unrestricted educational grants and research projects.
• Stay informed about medical, clinical, regulatory, compliance, and quality standards while supporting the company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Collect and analyze competitor information, communicating relevant intelligence to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners on Medical Affairs matters.
• An advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP, MSN, MS, Registered Dietician, or Genetic Counselor).
• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison.
• Experience in supporting an orphan product and/or prior clinical experience in Inborn Errors of Metabolism, genetics, and/or rare diseases.
• Experience in Phenylketonuria is preferred.
• Background in supporting high-cost products distributed via specialty pharmacies, requiring extensive coordination with patient access services.
• Comprehensive, hands-on experience working with KOLs, healthcare professionals, payors, and/or academic institutions.
• Proven success in interpreting scientific data and presenting research findings to scientists and healthcare professionals.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including scientific and technical writing as well as presentations.
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical delivery process.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and adaptability to shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
• A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with active vehicle insurance coverage.
• Willingness to travel daily to/from customer accounts and the ability to drive and/or fly long distances.
• Ability to fulfill medical facility vendor credentialing requirements, including training, background checks, and proof of immunizations.
