Medical Records Coder II – Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vermont.

📋 Description

• Leverage knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 nomenclatures along with coding guidelines to accurately identify diagnoses and procedure codes.

• Assign appropriate CPT-4 codes for various procedures and surgeries.

• Evaluate clinical documentation from inpatient and/or outpatient records.

• Adhere to coding compliance policies while achieving productivity benchmarks.

• Employ electronic information systems for coding tasks including 3M Coding and Reimbursement Systems and EPIC.

• Effectively communicate with healthcare providers to address and resolve coding and documentation concerns.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Coding certification from either the American Health Information Management Association or the American Academy of Professional Coders.

• A minimum of 2 years of coding experience with ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding systems.

• Familiarity with the latest American Medical Association and American Health Association Coding Guidelines.

• Proficient in reviewing and interpreting documentation for precise coding and billing practices.
