This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 PCS codes for both inpatient and outpatient services.
• Address and resolve billing work queue edits effectively.
• Analyze claim denials and implement necessary corrections.
• Uphold organizational standards by maintaining a daily chart review volume and ensuring high coding accuracy.
• Conduct daily chart reviews for hospital coding purposes.
• Engage with individuals across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric.
• AHIMA certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or AHIMA certification as a Registered Health Information Technician with CCS is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience in hospital coding is necessary.
• At least three years of experience in inpatient and/or outpatient hospital ICD-9 and/or CPT/HCPCS coding is essential.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, specifically in assigning ICD-10, ICD-10 PCS, and CPT/HCPCS codes.
• Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute is required.
• Proficiency in English through verbal, written, and reading skills is a must.
• Ability to hear and see is essential.
• Capability to reach 7 to 8 feet, utilizing a step stool if necessary.
• Must be able to bend down 4–6 inches from the floor to retrieve charts.
• Ability to sit for extended periods is required.
• Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds with assistance is expected.
• Must effectively communicate with individuals from pediatric to geriatric age groups.
