This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Develop radiation oncology treatment strategies utilizing both computer and manual computation to achieve optimal beam geometry.
• Recognize and delineate normal and dose-restricting structures with the aid of CT, MRI, PET, and other imaging datasets.
• Produce and transfer reference images and localization markers, such as DRRs and CBCTs, to facilitate portal verification and treatment delivery.
• Oversee, conduct, or assist in simulations and tumor localization through the use of CT, MRI, and PET technologies.
• Strategize and execute the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, and other devices that modify beam characteristics.
• Plan and carry out the production of molds, casts, and various immobilization apparatus.
• Provide guidance to radiation therapists regarding the execution of treatment plans and parameters for treatment or imaging.
• Compute prescribed dose delivery, maintain patient record documentation, and ensure the accuracy of mathematical calculations.
• Collaborate effectively with radiation oncologists and the AOS Dosimetry team.
• Board Certification from the MDCB is required.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics, and radiation safety.
• Proficiency in radiation oncology and medical physics to create effective treatment plans.
• Familiarity with health care informatics, which includes data acquisition, storage, retrieval, clinical guidelines, medical terminology, and information and communication systems.
• Skill in image registration across CT, MRI, and PET datasets.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective information exchange with patients, families, radiation oncology teams, and external parties.
• Must comply with relevant Vendor Credentialing requirements for access to client sites.
• May be required to provide valid identification, undergo criminal background checks and drug screenings, complete necessary immunizations and annual TB testing, and fulfill healthcare training.
• The successful candidate must be capable of working with controlled technology in accordance with United States export control laws.
