Medical Director – Pathology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• You will begin your training remotely in a well-structured environment, receiving support from trainers, mentors, and leadership to ensure your success.

• Perform time-sensitive, specialized, evidence-based medical case reviews for medical necessity using EviCore’s case management software.

• Engage in physician consultation (peer-to-peer) calls with referring providers to discuss evidence-based medical necessity and the appropriateness of the requested service or treatment.

• Utilize your clinical expertise to suggest alternative services or treatments when necessary.

• Collaborate with over 500 EviCore physician colleagues to ensure patients receive proper care through evidence-based decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. with an active U.S. medical license and board certification (ABMS or AOA) in one or more of the following: Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, Hematopathology, Molecular Genetic Pathology, or Neuropathology.

• Must be eligible to obtain additional state licensure as required.

• Clinical experience is mandatory.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience following residency or fellowship.

• Familiarity with applicable state and federal laws, as well as Utilization Review Accreditation Commission and National Committee for Quality Assurance standards, is advantageous.

• Must be willing to commit to a defined weekly work schedule (Monday through Friday).

• Proficient computer skills: capable of working independently with automated processes, computer applications, and systems.

• Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including, but not limited to, typing, speaking, and listening 100% of the time.
