This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Conduct medical monitoring for designated projects.
• Serve as the medical representative on the project team.
• Offer medical consultation as needed or requested by clients/sponsors or other Parexel service groups.
• Take on the role of Senior Technical Lead in specific situations.
• Assess all individual adverse experience reports for accuracy and clinical significance, and evaluate their connection to the study drug, severity, and seriousness.
• Generate reports for the FDA or other regulatory bodies and the sponsor on a regular basis, summarizing adverse experiences as required by the FDA or the sponsor, based on the contract.
• Analyze data listings of safety data, including adverse experiences, lab data, and vital signs data, to identify the presence or absence of abnormal trends, and if identified, follow up appropriately with the project team, sponsor, investigator, and FDA.
• Examine documents prepared by various Parexel divisions for safety concerns.
• Review the coding of adverse events and concomitant medications for precision and consistency.
• Assist in the development of clinical protocols, integrated clinical and statistical summary reports, journal articles, and other documentation for clients/sponsors or in collaboration with clients/sponsors and other Parexel divisions.
• Attend and present information, as requested, at meetings within Parexel as well as external meetings and conferences.
• Must be an MD Endocrinologist with FRCPC certification (or an equivalent international credential).
• Extensive clinical experience in treating adult patients with Obesity, MASH/NASH, and Diabetes is highly preferred.
• Previous experience as a Physician in Industry or as a Clinical Trial Primary Investigator or Sub-Investigator is highly preferred; however, exceptional candidates interested in transitioning to Industry will be considered.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with sponsor/client counterparts.
• Excellent time management abilities.
• Superior verbal and written medical communication skills.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English.
• A flexible approach towards work assignments and the pursuit of new knowledge.
• Capability to manage multiple diverse tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with meticulous attention to detail.
• Willingness to operate in a matrix environment and recognize the importance of teamwork.
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and/or internationally as required.
