Medical Director, Behavioral Health – Medicaid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the implementation of behavioral health care strategies and/or operations

• Make assessments regarding requested services and appropriate levels of care

• Acquire and apply knowledge of Medicaid requirements in daily operations

• Perform computer-assisted evaluations of clinical scenarios and records

• Relay decisions to internal team members

• Engage in discussions regarding determinations with external physicians and stakeholders

• Uphold Humana's values and participate in team initiatives

• May necessitate coverage during vacations, weekends, and holidays

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree

• Board-certified in a Psychiatry specialty recognized by ABMS

• A valid and unrestricted license in at least one jurisdiction

• Willing to pursue additional licensure if necessary

• Minimum of five years of post-training experience delivering clinical services

• Background in utilization management review and case management within a health plan environment

• No existing sanctions from Federal or State Government organizations

• Capable of meeting credentialing requirements
