This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee, mentor, and assess MD/DO providers throughout the platform's clinical sectors.
• Create and track performance metrics for physicians (such as quality of documentation, adherence to protocols, patient outcomes, escalation management, and complaint/incident rates).
• Collaborate with the Clinical NP Manager to jointly promote accountability for overall clinical performance across the combined physician and NP workforce.
• Conduct or supervise regular chart audits and peer reviews.
• Act as a collaborating/supervising physician for NPs in states requiring a collaborative practice or supervision agreement by law.
• Keep collaborative practice agreements compliant and updated in all relevant states.
• Monitor updates in state NP scope-of-practice laws and modify collaboration structures as necessary.
• Develop, evaluate, and uphold evidence-based clinical protocols and treatment guidelines across the platform's service lines.
• Engage in the clinical review of new products, service lines, and platform features prior to their launch.
• Work closely with the SVP of Operations to understand the business and operational impacts of new products, staffing models, and clinical capacity planning.
• Identify and address clinical risk trends.
• Promote a culture of clinical quality and patient safety among all provider types and verticals.
• Review and authorize physician timecards and payroll submissions regularly.
• Manage physician payroll, including the calculation of compensation and prompt resolution of payroll discrepancies.
• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license (preference for multi-state licensure or willingness to obtain additional state licenses).
• Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine).
• Over 8 years of clinical practice experience, including experience in the telehealth sector.
• Experience supervising or collaborating with NPs and/or PAs, preferably across multiple states.
• Knowledgeable about telehealth care delivery models and multi-state regulatory/licensing issues.
• Proven experience in developing clinical protocols or guidelines.
• Preferred: Previous experience in a Medical Director or similar clinical leadership position at a telehealth or multi-site healthcare organization.
• Experience across various clinical verticals (e.g., primary care, weight management, mental health, urgent care, women’s health, men’s health).
• Familiar with EHR/telehealth platforms and clinical quality metrics/reporting.
• Experience navigating the variations in NP scope-of-practice from state to state.
• Salary: $325,000-365,000 annually.
