This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary physician leader for all prescribing physicians (MDs/DOs).
• Set standards for clinical practice in both primary care and obesity medicine, as well as for documentation and patient management.
• Foster physician engagement, professional growth, and retention.
• Collaborate to enhance physician productivity, patient access, and overall performance.
• Work alongside Operations and Finance to align staffing models with demand and track visit utilization, follow-up frequency, and capacity management.
• Address underperformance by implementing coaching and structured improvement strategies.
• Facilitate peer review, case consultations, and initial physician escalations.
• Recruit and onboard new physicians according to knownwell expectations and best practices.
• Supervise up to 4 APCs in states where legally permitted.
• Identify deficiencies in care delivery and clinical workflows by engaging in approximately 4 hours of direct patient care each week.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Analytics to create scalable solutions.
• Provide input on product specifications to ensure safe and effective care.
• Direct clinical aspects of scheduling models and visit design.
• Work with Clinical Quality to maintain evidence-based care standards.
• Assist in incident reviews, safety escalations, and risk management.
• Promote documentation integrity and coding accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and collaborative practice standards.
• Support physician collaboration agreements and APC supervision structures.
• Maintain suitable supervisory ratios and coverage models.
• Assist in the onboarding readiness for new prescribers.
• Primarily an administrative leadership position.
• Involve 4-6 clinical hours per week.
• MD or DO with multi-state licensure in good standing.
• Demonstrated clinical experience, preferably in primary care, weight management, or obesity medicine.
• Strong passion for clinical education, curriculum development, healthcare operations, and mentorship.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for working effectively across clinical and operational teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to meet market-specific needs.
• Comfort with virtual care platforms, possessing proficiency in or a readiness to gain expertise in Athena.
• Proven capability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of organization and follow-through.
