📋 Description

• Review and assess patient records.

• Efficiently and accurately code a range of services, including but not limited to evaluation and management, laboratory tests, imaging, injections and infusions, as well as specialty surgical procedures in both clinic and hospital outpatient environments.

• Monitor, investigate, and rectify claim denials in accordance with health plan requirements, documenting any trends for follow-up actions.

• Submit clean claims for payment processing.

• Adhere to Federal and State regulations by utilizing CCI edits, Medicare bulletins, ACR bulletins, etc., to stay updated on industry changes.

• Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.

• Locate documentation across various EMR systems, including EPIC, ECW, Cerner, and Meditech.

• Collaborate with clients to ensure precise coding.

• Uphold patient confidentiality and information security.

• Achieve and maintain an error rate of 5% or lower.

• Meet production targets set by the supervisor.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in abstract coding and handling coding denials for both hospital outpatient and professional claims.

• Experience in Payor and Policy Research.

• Proficiency with the Epic platform.

• Possession of any of the following certifications from AAPC or AHIMA (Proof of active certification required): Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or an equivalent certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
