This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assign ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers to physician charges based on medical record documentation.
• Leverage various resources to aid in code assignment.
• Address coding denials and pre-bill coding edits effectively.
• Uphold productivity and accuracy standards through internal audits.
• Provide training and share information with peers and clients.
• Adhere to deadlines and finalize assignments prior to monthly closing dates.
• Implement relevant coding rules and client-specific guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Vocational or technical education beyond high school is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of coding experience is necessary.
• Certification such as CPC or CCS-P or an equivalent in Multi-specialty Evaluation and Management coding is required.
• Proven knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and coding rules and regulations.
• Familiarity with third-party reimbursement regulations and billing practices is essential.
• Capability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem identification and resolution skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of CCI, LCD, NCD, and other relevant coding rules and regulations.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with co-workers.
• A readiness to learn and grow professionally is a must.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
