Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Engage with patients and customers daily via phone to address inquiries or process payments

• Accurately code patient visits on a daily basis

• Provide assistance to team members regarding billing and insurance inquiries

• Process billing for patient visits weekly following an employee rotation schedule

• Communicate daily with insurance companies by phone to resolve payment discrepancies

• Submit electronic insurance claims and appeals

• Address and respond to claim denials

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification

• Minimum of two years of coding experience is essential

• Prior experience with claims, payment posting, denials, appeals, and coding is required

• Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers’ Compensation insurance billing regulations

• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both over the phone and in person

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

• Ability to work full days from home without distractions

• Must reside within a two-hour drive of Shepherdsville, Kentucky

• Continuous ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer

• Regular use of hands for typing tasks

• Capability to engage in phone conversations for at least 50% of the workday

• Certification in Coding is preferred
