Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Encode terms reported as adverse events and medical history, along with prior and concomitant medications, utilizing industry-standard dictionaries such as MedDRA and WHOdrug.

• Deliver high-quality scientific operations work in close collaboration with the team and stakeholders.

• Perform coding in alignment with departmental conventions and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Generate queries to clarify potentially inconsistent data.

• Assist with consistency reviews of data coding and Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reconciliation as required.

• Work alongside medical monitors and members of the Clinical and Data Management teams to ensure timely coding in accordance with project timelines.

• Utilize coding tools such as Medidata RAVE Coder, TMS, and Veeva.

• Provide assistance in interdepartmental training for new staff as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or a related background in health sciences.

• Relevant experience may be considered in place of a four-year degree.

• Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in pharmacovigilance, clinical research, and/or clinical data management is required.

• Experience with MedDRA and WHODD is preferred.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology, clinical trials, and coding is essential.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams.

• Strong attention to detail and a dedication to producing high-quality work.

• Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based.
