Medical Claims Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Accurately and efficiently submit medical claims to insurance payers.

• Review, monitor, and follow up on claims that have been denied, rejected, unpaid, or are stale.

• Collaborate directly with insurance companies to resolve issues related to billing and reimbursement.

• Identify and rectify errors in claims, address eligibility concerns, manage authorization gaps, and handle payer rejections.

• Resubmit corrected claims and oversee appeals when necessary.

• Keep precise documentation and updates on claim statuses across internal systems.

• Monitor aging claims and proactively escalate high-risk accounts or issues with payers.

• Work closely with intake, credentialing, clinical, and operations teams to swiftly resolve claim obstacles.

• Ensure workflows related to reimbursement and collections are timely and accurate.

• Continuously enhance billing processes, operational efficiency, and claim turnaround times.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in U.S. healthcare billing or revenue cycle management is essential.

• Experience with Medicare and commercial insurance payers is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of claims submission, denial management, appeals, and payer follow-up processes.

• Highly detail-oriented and organized.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Capable of managing high-volume operational tasks with both speed and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with EHRs, billing systems, clearinghouses, or insurance portals is preferred.
