Medical Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Engage with patients and customers daily via phone to address inquiries or process payments.

• Record insurance payments on a daily basis and ensure deposits are balanced.

• Provide support to team members regarding billing and insurance inquiries.

• Investigate, resolve, and appeal any denied claims.

• Communicate regularly by phone with insurance companies to address payment issues.

• Conduct coding during busy periods.

• Maintain the precision of medical coding, payment posting, and client account reconciliation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must reside within a 2-hour drive of Shepherdsville, Kentucky.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, both over the phone and in person.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service.

• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers’ Compensation insurance billing regulations.

• Understanding of Electronic Medical Records.

• Prior experience with claims, payment posting, denials, appeals, and coding is essential.

• Ability to work uninterrupted full days from home.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• A minimum of two years of coding experience is mandatory.

• Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer consistently.

• Frequent use of hands for typing is necessary.

• Must be capable of speaking on the phone for at least 50% of the workday.
