This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Conduct, oversee, and verify all primary and secondary insurance verifications and re-verifications for medical insurances, including Medicare, Private, and Managed Care patients, through both paper and electronic methods, adhering to payer-specific guidelines.
• Accountable for pre-billing audits, entering and maintaining daily client lists, and executing pre-billing audits within the Accounts Receivable (AR) or other financial software systems.
• Diligently maintain all patient accounts, ensuring accuracy in monthly statements and collections.
• Investigate and resolve EOB rejections and other issues related to outstanding accounts.
• Process cash receipts and adjustments as necessary.
• Manage initial and ongoing authorizations from patient insurances.
• Review contracts to confirm insurance payment and requirements.
• Assist in facilitating and overseeing the Monthly Triple Check process.
• Support the maintenance of payer setup within the AR software.
• Liaise with managers and staff as needed to acquire or validate billing information.
• Communicate with patients and/or their families regarding patient data and account status.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Healthcare Billing and Collections, including Medicare Part A & Part B, Commercial, Medicaid, and co-insurance, is required.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with applications, including medical billing software systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Experience in Home Health billing is required.
• Proficiency with Way Star and Well Sky software is preferred.
