📋 Description

• You will be introduced to the health insurance industry, various healthcare environments, coding practices, and reimbursement processes.

• You will gain insights into health insurance operations, legal and regulatory matters, variations in reimbursement methods, and medical billing principles related to proper claim form preparation, submission, payment processing, and follow-up procedures.

• Deliver efficient and effective coding services on behalf of our member clients in accordance with payer requirements and organizational policies, ensuring adherence to all coding guidelines.

• Analyze and interpret patient encounters to ensure accurate code assignment for all relevant diagnoses and procedures.

• Assist in meeting the reimbursement needs of members by reviewing and recommending the correct assignment of diagnosis and procedure codes that are essential for third-party reimbursement.

• Research and acquire necessary information from the provider/office via the Epic in-basket when required, as per agreement.

• Support research efforts for denied claims.

• Achieve assigned productivity targets.

• Build and sustain positive relationships with patients, payers, team members, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Uphold the confidentiality of patient information, organizational data, and information, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.

• A high school diploma or GED is required.

• Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents/Green Card holders (not available to non-citizens or Visa holders).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is an advantage for this position.

• Knowledge of California Billing is preferred but not mandatory.

• Successful completion of a national criminal background check is required.

• Eligible for monthly Health Marketplace reimbursement of up to $600 for 44 weeks (participant cost only).

• Internet stipend of $35/month for 44 weeks.
