This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate claims against patient records prior to submission to ensure that ICD/CPT coding accurately represents the diverse patient population and aligns with clinical protocols, strategic objectives, and value-based care goals.
• Review and manage medical records for billing purposes, guaranteeing precision and thorough documentation.
• Submit insurance claims and monitor outstanding payments diligently.
• Collect payments for services rendered and liaise with patients and insurance providers regarding billing inquiries.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to address discrepancies in patient records and resolve billing issues.
• Ensure adherence to relevant medical billing and coding regulations and guidelines.
• Investigate intricate claims and reimbursement challenges, identify underlying systemic issues, and coordinate corrective measures across teams.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Revenue Cycle Manager and/or Revenue Cycle Lead.
• Efficient in processes and capable of swiftly adapting to complex billing and coding requirements.
• Skilled in medical coding practices, with a solid understanding of ICD-10 codes.
• Strong grasp of medical terminology and the healthcare sector.
• Experience in a medical office setting, specifically in billing or coding positions.
• Familiarity with medical billing systems and software applications; experience with Athena is preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Preferred: A minimum of 10 years of experience in any revenue cycle capacity.
• Commitment to preserving the integrity of patient information and complying with healthcare regulations.
• Capability to manage sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
