This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for overseeing the mechanical installation of parcel conveying systems.
• This role involves collaboration with the mechanical PE, project manager, and customer to ensure successful project completion.
• Must plan, layout, and carry out the specific tasks associated with the installation process.
• Comprehend and implement the mechanical installation in accordance with the project manager's strategy.
• Familiarity with the installation drawings is essential.
• Responsible for tracking and staging materials.
• Organize tasks by crew.
• Understand and adhere to the project schedule.
• Serve as the field liaison with the customer’s project representative(s).
• Develop the project installation plan, manage contract change orders, and adhere to customer specifications and standards.
• Offer technical assistance to vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors regarding inquiries.
• Share project-specific information with other MHS departments, including project management, purchasing, electrical engineering, field installation, and fabrication.
• Release drawings for installation and fabrication processes.
• Generate material purchase requests.
• Convey information about changes to the project's scope as they arise.
• Uphold project-specific requirements while leveraging a general understanding of conveying systems, equipment, and customer specifications and standards.
• Be aware of opportunities for professional development, cost savings, quality enhancements, and improved customer service.
• Review drawings provided by mechanical designers for accuracy and offer feedback for necessary corrections.
• Identify potential safety hazards for yourself or fellow employees and take appropriate corrective measures to mitigate or eliminate risks.
• Execute or assist in directing engineering analysis as required by project needs, covering disciplines such as structural, mechanical power transmission, and fluid power.
• Minimum of five years of supervisory experience, preferably in the conveyor systems industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of:
• Power transmission equipment.
• Steel fabrication.
• Microsoft Office.
• A solid working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
• Ability to:
• Read, comprehend, and apply customer specifications.
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
• Execute detail-oriented work that yields above-average results.
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and timely, manage personal workload, participate in setting priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
• Willingness to travel for periods ranging from 9 months to 3 years to various locations.
