This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Intertek, a leading multinational company in Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification (ATIC), is in search of skilled Fitness-For-Service Mechanical Integrity Engineers for upcoming projects involving Brownfield EPC modifications, revamping initiatives, and operational integrity programs across various Energy assets.
• This position emphasizes the assessment of existing equipment, legacy systems, and in-service degradation to aid engineering decisions concerning re-rating, tie-ins, life extension, defect evaluation, and mechanical integrity assurance.
• The FFS Mechanical Integrity Engineer serves as the technical authority for API 579/ASME FFS-1 assessments and mechanical integrity engineering, guaranteeing that all evaluations and recommendations are technically sound, adhere to international standards, and meet Client integrity requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Metallurgy, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Mechanical Integrity or a similar discipline is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical integrity engineering, encompassing rerating, repair evaluations, and static equipment integrity.
• At least 5 years of verifiable experience conducting FFS assessments.
• Familiarity with software/tools for Level 2 and Level 3 assessments.
• Completion of API 579 training and proven ability in executing FFS assessments (mandatory).
• API 510 and/or API 570 certifications are preferred.
• Knowledge of API 571 is beneficial for correlating damage mechanisms.
• Training related to ASME or FEA is advantageous.
• Extensive expertise in the API 579/ASME FFS-1 methodology and its application to in-service pressurized equipment.
• Strong comprehension of stress analysis, fracture mechanics, remaining life calculations, and principles of structural integrity.
• Skillful in interpreting inspection and NDT data for flaw evaluation and defect characterization.
• Advanced proficiency with FFS software tools.
• Comprehensive understanding of ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, API 510/570, and relevant mechanical integrity codes.
• Capability to integrate FFS and Mechanical Integrity outcomes into revamping decisions, repair scopes, and operational integrity strategies.
