Mechanical Field Service Engineer, Apprentice

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Assist Field Service Engineers in addressing customer support inquiries.

• Observe and practice the diagnosis of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in corrugating and box-making machinery.

• Provide support in disassembly, inspection, and repair processes under guidance.

• Train alongside seasoned technicians to understand prints, specifications, manuals, and work orders.

• Participate in the setup and installation of new equipment, coordinating with riggers and millwrights.

• Acquire skills to install electrical and hydraulic connections, conduct leveling and alignment checks, and confirm machine operation.

• Shadow technicians during operator training sessions to grasp machine functionality and maintenance protocols; assist with supervised training tasks.

• Aid in documenting service activities, including taking photos and providing detailed descriptions of work completed.

• Report equipment issues, material requirements, or safety concerns to supervising technicians or management.

• Engage in structured learning initiatives, including technical training modules and performance assessments.

• Support operations as necessary to uphold workflow and meet schedules and quality benchmarks.

• Arrange travel for assigned customer site visits, including flight, accommodation, and rental car bookings, in line with company policy.

• Prepare and submit documentation for invoicing and expenses according to established procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• At least one (1) year of hands-on mechanical experience, such as Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, or a similar role.

• Basic comprehension of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and industrial equipment.

• Experience with basic mechanical troubleshooting, fluid systems, and equipment repair.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the capability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.

• Technical school, vocational training, or military training in mechanical, automotive, diesel, or industrial maintenance is preferred.

• ASE certifications or equivalent mechanical certifications are a plus.
